Biography

South Soldiers are a grime collective from South London, and have been making grime since 2003. The crew started off by merging into one group from two sets of MCs, Shortman and Luke-Depth, and Venom and Desperado. Later recruits to the group included Decoy, Spokeman and Messy, and were well-known for their show on the South London-based pirate radio station OnTop FM. Now, there are four current members. The newest recruit to the camp is Kid Bookie, brought in by Desperado.

The group have supported American acts 'Akon' and 'ATL', as well as featuring on Risky Roadz. Also, their track 'Heads Up' was used as part of the 'Don't Trigger' campaign, aimed at cutting gun-crime. The video for the song was featured on Channel U, MTV Base, and various other music channels.

South Soldiers plan to release their single 'Roll Girl' in May, with plans for funky and bassline versions of the track. There is also a remix of Roll Girl on Desperado's myspace, and plans for a video.
