Biography

Marcus 'Lumos' Thomas (also known as Tinchy Stryder), is a 16 year old, Artist who makes various kinds of music, most of which is Grime. He was born May 16th on London Road. In Thornton Heath, Croydon a city just outside South London. When he was 4 years old he and his family moved to Montego Bay, Jamaica. He moves back to his hometown in England(permanently) this summer.

Lumos Meets Grime

At the age of 13 Marcus began to become highly addicted to and influenced by good music, up until early 2005 he knew nothing of Grime music and disliked Dancehall(Until Mid-2006)music even though he was living in the country of its origin. That all changed, when in 2005 his aunt began to send him Playstation 2 magazines every month, he stumbled across an album review of Lethal Bizzle's Against All Oddz album and downloaded [Pow]. After that he was hooked. He then downloaded the remix which featured Kano. One song led to another and soon he had GB's(Gigs)of Grime music on his PC. Kano began his favorite artist of all time and now there is not 1 Kano track he does not have. He soon moved onto music from other MC's - JME, Skepta, Wiley, Ghetto, Tinie Tempah and more recently Voltage, Griminal, and Chipmunk. He has always seen him self as an Ambassador of Grime music as well as PRO, promoting and spreading the genre's fan base across the Atlantic.

DJ Lumos

Marcus used to go by the name DJ Lumos, because he originally wanted to be a DJ but he soon changed his name to just Lumos or MC Lumos if u wish. He got the name Lumos from Harry Potter, when he was in year 8, he says he choose Lumos[Back when he was 12] because all of his MSN Messenger contacts all had cool screen names and Lumos sounded cool. Lumos, in Harry Potter, is a spell which summons light. Lumos says he lights up the dance/endz/scene.

Birth of the Grime MC

In 2007 Lumos found the Ghetto Kyote Riddims over the internet. On night he was on his friends PC an d he started to spit bars right out of his head on the V.I.P. version of Kamikaze's Riddim. A couple of his friends heard him, all of whom bashed Grime as garbage, and they all loved his freestyle. That day May 4th,2007 was the beginning of his time as an MC.

Lumobars

He hopes to release a mixtape Lumobars Vol. 1 in Late September 2008.

Popular Lyrics

I'm the man// Catch me in the blue Suzuki van// My bars will make voltage say Woo Damn// And I'm clockin your next move like the [Uchiha Clan]. (From His song "Heated")

I keep it cold and sho // Don't talk blood just show me the dough// Your girl's crossed the line and been tossed// More than the ball in Pro E-V-O ([Pro Evolution Soccer])// More than the ball in Pro E-V-O// You how it goes, she just juggles my balls// And I apply some force and score in her goal// Yea I know, I'm too cold. (Extract From his Freestyle which is available for download below)
