Biography

Bashy (real name Ashley Thomas) is an MC from North West London, who makes grime music but is also known for vocalling hip hop beats. He was a member of the Special Delivery crew, who had a regular set on the pirate radio station Freeze FM. He made his name through his clashing ability, with his direct and comical punch-lines causing problems for other MCs, including Demon on Lord Of The Mics 2, and Ghetto. One of his biggest hits to date is 'Black Boys', which was released in October 2007.

In 2008, he vocalled the title track to the youth film 'Adulthood', which was produced by Maniac. His debut album, Catch Me If You Can, is expected to be released this year, after being announced in 2005 and subjected to numerous delays.

He is rumoured to drive the 114 bus in north west.

Black Boys

'Black Boys' is the first single from Bashy's album 'Catch Me If You Can' and, despite having success and a good reception, the track was later banned from many music channels due to alleged racism. Bashy stated in an interview and on his blog that the track is in no way racist, and expressed his views about this in a freestyle on Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood's show. The track's success led to a remix which featured many artists from both the grime and UK Hip Hop scenes.
